Members of the Housekeeping Department Rinda Everon and Ludwina Vazquez were in charge of organization a Fiesta Cultural, in honor of Housekeeping Week.
Aruba, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Surinam and Venezuela were nicely represented in the resort’s 9th floor penthouse as the cultural feast unfolded with typical food, drinks, Carnaval images, art, music and fantastic national dresses.
Jamaica’s first lady of comedy Louise Bennet was represented by one of the housekeeprs, her food-stand brimming with Macaroni Pie, Bacalao, Coconut Rice and Peas, different kinds of home-made cookies and lemonade. She even offered surprise raffles and nice baskets for prizes.
The award winning Aruba stand featured everything Aruban from A to Z with many local specialties among them Soppi Cabrito, Carni Stoba, Chuculati Pinda, Tamarijn, Awa di Lamoenchi, Funchi, Pan Bati, Jambo, Boonchi Cora cu Rabo, Driguidek, Keri Keri and a special San Juan corner, dedicated to the popular saint.
In second place the Dominican Republic did not disappoint with Arroz Moro, Mangú, Patacones, Estofado de Puerco y de Carne, Sancocho tea , Habichuelas con Dulce, Cassava Bread, Coffee and even ice-cold Presidente beer.
Venezuela delivered Pabellon Criollo, Empanadas, Bollitos Pelones, Dulce de Papaya with Manjar Blanco and last but not least Surinam with delicious Bami Goreng.
The elaborate party celebrating the cultural diversity of the resort’s Housekeeping Department delivered much fun and very pleasant culinary experiences.
