Eric Wente Return to Aruba after a Two Year Hiatus

Eric Wente has been coming here for almost two decades, playing golf, raising money for charity, and promoting his fine California wine collection.

As the Wente brand ambassador, he picked Aruba, as his charity recipient in the Caribbean, and became the chief sponsor of an annual Charity Golf Tournament, at Tierra Del Sol.

Here he partnered with Arion Wine Company and Papiamento restaurant to produce the much-enjoyed series of events.

On his first evening on the island, Wente hosted a wine reception at H&H Fine Wines and Spirits in Ponton, promoting his latest vineyard, Murrieta’s Well, now making Sauvignon Blanc and a lovely red blend, wines from a scenic winery dating from the 19th century.

Wente, is fourth generation winegrower & chairman Emeritus of the board at Wente Vineyards, after 43 years of service at the helm of the company.

Arion Wine Company has enjoyed a relationship with the winemaker for all these years, and is looking forward to a great turnout on Sunday, happy to restart the tradition, after a two year break.

You have it all, Wente explains, all tournament components are in place, and we have enjoyed putting this together, in Aruba. It’s a great tradition, says Eduard Ellis, chef-proprietor of Papiamento Restaurant, we really look forward to it, each year.
