ECO DMS partners with the Hyatt Regency to present Authentic Island Chic

DSC08058Delegates of SITE International Conference 09 were invited to party under the stars on the beach at the Hyatt Regency at a mega-event conceived by the creative team of ECO DMS and the resort general manager, Susan Santiago.

Wichita Villacres, President & CEO of ECO DMS reports the evening was created as an exclusive Hyatt Regency theme, and will be used in the future to entertain, reward and motivate meetings and incentives group travel.

Upon arrival at the torch-lit beachfront, SITE IC 09 delegates were asked to leave their shoes on bamboo mats, as they were greeted by refreshing Mango Mojitos. The beach was laid out with stylish lounge areas, and several Tiki bars serving premium libations. Two fire-pits beckoned at the edge of the water surrounded by low, comfortable cushions, and a hammock. At the heart of the arena, a giant sand sculpture incorporating the Hyatt, ECO & SITE emblems, with real live sand-people added to the décor. A corner of the beach was dedicated to star-gazing with two powerful telescopes aimed at the almost full moon.

The creative menu offered Melon & Mango Gazpachos, Gumbo with Funchi and Pumpkin Soup with toasted pepitas, fresh seafood ceviche, and an abundant display of mini entrees such as Chicken Pinchos, Char Sui Pork, Balashi Battered Shrimp, Lamb Skewers and Beef Johnny Cakes. The Seafood Boil Cookout station was received with great enthusiasm, rounding up the menu inspired by authentic island foods

The dessert corner offered Dutch chocolate shooters, Pan Dushi, Coconut Tartelettes and Lemon Bars also winking at the island’s Dutch and Caribbean roots, in a novel, contemporary presentation.

The music of Abstract Dawn with singer Lucre Houtman packed a huge amount of talent, with Martin Buitenweg on sizzling guitar, Teddy Phillips on flaming base, and Aruba’s most versatile arranger/composer, band leader Hildward Croes singing and playing his on-fire keyboard.

The mellower second part of the evening was entertained by Jazz man Carlos Bislip.
