During Ronde van Aruba, 2018 The Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort & Casino Teams Deliver Stellar Performances

The annual race around the island, Ronde van Aruba, unfolded last Friday evening, starting and finishing at the Marine camp in Savaneta, with 583 participants.

The 72km competition was first run in 1971 as a Dutch Marine event and over the past 26 years has become Aruba’s most popular road race with individuals, relay duos and relay foursomes, a total of 172 teams, a mixed crowd of locals and international guests, including His Majesty’s Royal Dutch Marines, and civilians.

Team Hilton Aruba #1 came in in first place in their category of Mix Estafette, with a time of 6:20:52; while Hilton Aruba #2 came in 20th out 46 teams in their category Estafette, 121 – 160 years, with a time of 6:40:26.

Hilton Aruba #1 consisted of Manuel Reyes, Pool & Beach, Sofia Palacios, Pool & Beach, Jacques Monteil, Hotel Manager and his wife Katie Monteil. Hilton Aruba #2 included Eugene Farro, Security, Jonathan Fernandes, Pool & Beach, Steve Lacle and Elizabeth Cordoba, both from F&B.

Practicing in their own free time, the eight Team Member athletes gave it their best during the race which started at 8pm on Friday and went on through the night, circling the entire island.

Some of them already participated in the International Challenge Aruba 2017, representing the resort with honors.

Their common goals of sport and fitness go beyond the annual Ronde van Aruba race, as the eight Hilton Team Members are colleagues and exceptional go-getters, who are passionate about their hobbies as they are passionate about their jobs!

It gives the resort great pleasure to acknowledge their spirit and applaud their results.
