Divi Resorts is ready to ring in the New Year with the opening of rooms in its newly constructed towers at Divi Aruba Phoenix Beach.  The property will welcome guests beginning December 27th.    The company had most recently announced an early January occupancy, but according to E. J. Schanfarber, president of Divi Hotels Marketing, Inc., “The stars aligned and we are very happy to say that we now look forward to celebrating New Year’s Eve there right along with guests. ”

The company has been feverishly working to complete the expansion project at Divi Aruba Phoenix Beach that will more than double the capacity of the resort.  In addition to adding 140 new suites,    Schanfarber announced that the expansion includes a new restaurant, new pools and grounds, which also will be up and running December 27.

While the four new beachside towers create a new skyline for the Phoenix Beach property in the well-known Palm Beach area, the new dining establishment at the foot of the towers gives more than a visual taste of the sophistication of the revamped property.   Called Pure Beach, it is a casual café open to the beach as well as the free form pool encircling it.  The landscaping for the project is equally a part of the luscious new look.  Beach improvements involved bringing Aruba’s famous white sand right up to the doorstep of the new restaurant.

On the terrace and inside, guests will lounge on overscaled furniture slipcovered in white canvas around low tables, part of the décor to create a European beach club aesthetic.  Like the restaurant, guest suites are done in a chic contemporary beige and white color scheme, contrasted with dark woods.

Opening rates for a one bedroom suite in the new beach towers start at $612 per night in week 52, based on single or double occupancy.  Beginning January 3rd until April 17th, the per night rate is $456.  (12/27-01/02/09), $456 per night between 01/03/09-04/17/09.  Rates do not include tax or service charges.

Elsewhere on the island, Divi’s latest round of villas at the Divi Village Golf & Beach Resort open for occupancy at the same time.   Fifty-two new villas have been completed, bringing the total to 240.  The golf villas surround Aruba’s only manicured golf course, the Links at Divi, a 9-hole professional course.

According to E.J. Schanfarber, President and CEO of Divi Hotels Marketing, Inc., ‘”The changes at both Phoenix Beach and expansion at Divi Village Golf & Beach Resort are helping position the Divi brand as the true aficionado of Caribbean vacations.”
