The four centrally-located Botica di Servicio, are now at the forefront of Diabetic Care, as they provide the quality assistance their members deserve, and supply diabetes test materials, serving the public as Diabetes Centers.
As part of their mission, the affiliated Boticas in Eagle, adjacent to the hospital, Maria in St. Cruz, Botica in Noord and, its sister in Seroe Preto, San Nicholas, have undertaken the task of testing the community’s blood sugar levels, free of charge.
Effective Saturday, January 30th, the Boticas will administer free glucose tests, monitoring levels of blood sugar, every last Saturday of the month. The test by itself is very important to people living with diabetes. However, occasional testing can also be beneficial to the general public, as it helps in early detection of the disease associated with numerous health challenges c
ardiovascular diseases, to stroke, chronic kidney failure, foot ulcers, and damage to the eyes.
The tests for blood sugar, or glucose levels, will be administered by the helpful and friendly Botica team members who take their job as health-care consultants very seriously. The Boticas’ highly trained, 45 team members are looking forward to serve the community and help diabetic patients live a full, active life in spite the disease, making life-style changes, improving nutrition, diet, and exercise, for a better, long term management of their symptoms.
You are invited to test your blood sugar, free of charge every last Saturday of the Month, between 8am and 10am, at any of the four Botica di Servicio. It is of utmost importance that clients arrive for the test nuchter, without having anything to drink or to eat that morning. After the test, the Botica is pleased to offer clients a healthy breakfast. And while on site, you may benefit from the guidance of the Botica’s vigilant pharmacists monitoring drug combinations, and also assisting with free blood-pressure testing, upon request.
