Oranjestad — The historic fort in the heart of Oranjestad served as backdrop for a much-enjoyed client-appreciation event combined with the official introduction of the new Deloitte Dutch Caribbean constellation of Audit, Consulting, Enterprise Risk Services, Financial Consulting and Tax experts.
Partners Michael Leo van Romondt and Julian Lopez Ramirez warmly welcomed guests to Fort Zoutman’s courtyard where guests enjoyed bottomless cocktails and butler passed hors d’oeuvres while networking and socializing in a relaxed, informal atmosphere.
In his short address Michael Leo van Romondt marked the beginning of a new fiscal bookyear for Deloitte Dutch Caribbean as the reason for celebration, having concluded a year with growing revenues and positive net results, made possible by the contributions of excellent team members.
Deloitte Dutch Caribbean, he explained, has been active in the Aruba market for over 30 years, a company with strong local roots and solid connection with the Deloitte global brand. True to its spirit of innovation Deloitte Dutch Caribbean was announcing the beginning of its collaboration with Deloitte Netherlands, expanding its expertise and availability in this ever-expanding and complex business world.
Van Romondt then introduced managing partner Rob Zuiverloon, who shared his vision for the future with invited clients and guests elaborating on Deloitte’s limitless capabilities with new ambitious and young partners who are prepared to take on any challenge and dedicate their ample resources to tend to their client’s daily business, helping it thrive.
Junior Lopez Ramirez, who also serves as the interim head of Customs here, enthusiastically introduced other Deloitte team members including, Otmar Martina, compliance and audit, Mario Flores, risk, Saskia Lans, audit and technology, and Maghalie van der Bunt, human capital. They all took their place on stage for a picture opportunity of the company’s talented, fully-charged line-up.
Deloitte Dutch Caribbean, was founded in July 1982, when Freddy Curiel joined forces with Donny Bakhuisin in an effort to create a solid accounting firm headed by native professionals. Being at the start primarily an accounting firm, other services have been added during the following years, such as Consulting, Tax and Information Technology.
We look forward to the future, declared van Romondt, the outlook remains unclear, but with hard work, persistence and a positive mind set, a lot can be achieved.
