The cozy Lounge & Restaurant opened on March 15th, and received an enthusiastic welcome from lovers of Mediterranean and Lebanese food.
Restaurateur Jacob Torossian is mostly responsible for the accolades since he welcomes his guests personally, as customary in Mediterranean cultures, and while seating them in the tastefully appointed dining room, he makes sure to connect with them on a first name basis.
Byblos serves home cooking, Jacob’s mom is the Queen of the Kitchen and her traditional home-cooking family recipes receive a fresh interpretation daily.
The menu is small but represents Ethnic Mediterranean Cuisine very well, featuring take-out lunch and sit-down-relax-and-unwind dinner, Tuesday to Sunday.
Jacob named his restaurant on the Palm Beach Boulevard after Byblos, a seaside, more than 5000 year old city, at the foot of Mount Lebanon, which is believed to be the oldest continuously-inhabited city in the world. His menu, titled Ancient Society Ethnic Food, features appetizers such as Tabouleh Salad, Humus, Babaghanouj, Mhamara, Spinach Pie, Pastechi, Meat Pie, Kebbe, and as main courses Shawarma Wrap or Platter, Meat, Chicken & Nuts over Rice, Meat Balls over Rice, Vegetable Rice, Stuffed Grape Leaves, Eggplant Mousaka, and Byblos Delight, a Combo Platter of 5 Appetizers, as the main event.
For lunch, Byblos promotes an Awg 15 Lunch Menu including an appetizer combo platter & a soft drink, 2 appetizers per combo, Awg 3 for each extra order. Best of all, delivery is available from 12noon to 3pm and patrons in the hotel area should allow 15 minutes per delivery and 10% service charge.
The more elaborate dinner menu features Tabouleh, Humus, Babaghanouj, Falafel, Shawarma, Shish Kebab, Kefte, Shish tawook, Kebbe, offered daily from 5:30pm to 10:30pm
