At a press conference the resort in conjunction with the Aruba Tourism Authority revealed its plans for a fantastic 50th anniversary celebration, on Date: August 1st, 8 pm to 1 am
The enchanting evening of dining & entertainment includes the music of Eduardo Maya with his Caribbean Big Band!
With their last performance more than a decade ago, music lovers will be able to enjoy a gathering of Aruba’s top 20 jazz musicians brought together for this Gala event! This big band will also feature the accomplished trumpet player, George Viguier, who will be celebrating over 60 years of musicianship in Aruba.
While you are enjoying the retro menu prepared by the resorts culinary team, the maestro and his band will take you back to the 60’s with guest performers:
Sashiko da Camara: This jazz vocalist came to the Caribbean Hotel in 1963 as a member of the Ralph Flanegin Big Band. She performed nightly at the Bali Club for three months, and has resided in Aruba ever since. We are proud to have Sashiko as the featured opening act of the evening.
Other guest performers featured with the Caribbean Big Band include Edwin Abath, Placido Hazel, and Amy Mendez.
Following dessert… Start moving and grooving to the sounds of the 70’s and 80’s with Survivor Band’s one and only Amy Mendez accompanied by her Last Minute Band.
Once warmed up, Claudius Philips and OREO will continue with many of Billboard’s Top 40 hits from the 80’s, 90’s, and up to today.
