Aruba Trading Company organized a wine and food pairing at El Gaucho Restaurant in Oranjestad, hosted by the company’s wine expert Jorge Curiel and the representative of one of Chile’s most traditional wine makers Vina Maipo, born in the town of Maipo in 1948, south of Santiage de Chile.
Vina Maipo’s wines are made from grapes growing in Chile’s main valleys, which form an exceptionally fertile and protected area, namely the Casablanca, Maipo, Rapel and Maule valleys. The vinery makes interesting bi-varietals, varietals and reserve wines, shipping over one millions cases per year, and is recognized internationally for great quality and variety. Its Chardonnay Reserve 2006 won a gold medal in the Best Chardonnay du Monde contest in March 2007 in France, and is considered Chile’s Best Chardonnay.
