The 15th annual Aruba International Pro Am Golf Tournament took off on Friday with registration at the club house, the opportunity to play a few practice rounds, and a welcome reception.
Tierra del Sol’s head Golf Pro Oliver Riding, Golf Pro Adam Williamson and the support staff of the club house, including the Body & Soul Spa therapists, welcomed golfers from 10 different countries with a goody-bag, and a souvenir logo polo-shirt and cap.
The Aruba Trading Company, one of the tournament’s main sponsors offered an open bar, including freshly made Mojitos and decorated the Tierra del Sol club house garden with Johnnie Walker banners, the tournament’s preferred brand of Scotch whiskey.
During the two days of plays, pros always played their own ball, while the amateurs played a 4-man scramble format. Keeping accurate score, the pros and the amateurs played 36 holes, and enjoyed brunch on both days, a Caribbean barbeque on Saturday and an award dinner with prizes on Sunday.
