SAN NICOLAS (September 2nd, 2024) – Get ready to immerse yourself in a vibrant tapestry of colors, creativity, and culture at this year’s highly anticipated Art Week! From the 2nd through the 8th of September, the city transforms into an open-air gallery, with the grand reveal of stunning new murals that are already turning heads even before their completion.
This year, Art Week Aruba isn’t just about admiring art – it’s about witnessing it come to life. Renowned local and international artists have been hard at work, and their colossal murals, scattered across the city, are almost ready for their big debut. These masterpieces are not just paintings; they are powerful expressions of community, identity, and imagination, each telling a unique story that reflects the soul of our city.
Some of the artists invited to this year’s edition and working right now on their creation for San Nicolas, are Studio Giftig from Holland, Rosie Woods from the United Kingdom, Carlos Alberto from Mexico, Chemis from the Czech Republic and Sabotaje al Chantaje from Spain as well as our local talent such as Armando Goedgedrag, Paul, Wong, Omaira Silva and Robby Solognier in collaboration with Alex Koolman.
But that’s not all! Art Week Aruba promises an unforgettable experience for all art lovers with live art demonstrations where you can witness live painting sessions, interactive installations, and spontaneous performances that will leave you in awe; artist meet-and-greets to engage with the muralists and other participating artists, learning about their inspirations and techniques; and experience the food, music, and culture while you savor local delicacies, enjoy live music, and explore pop-up markets that celebrate the diverse cultural heritage of the Aruban community.
