You are invited to view the new collection of earrings and necklaces by the Caribbean Queen of April 2012, at Caribbean Queen, Palm Beach Village Mall.
The current Caribbean Queen, Faustina Fransisca Malmberg Ras, fondly known among family members, friends and colleagues as Anchie, was born and raised in Aruba. As a young adult, she moved to the Netherlands for almost a decade but her native island was tugging on her heartstrings and she returned home, her horizons expanded, having spent formative time in Europe, and having seen the world. Anchie had another opportunity of living overseas when years later, married and a mother of two, she left Aruba, this time to follow her Hotelier husband’s career, in the USA. Yet once again Aruba called and it is here, for the most part, that she raised her family and pursued her career.
Anchie has always had a special interest in the craft of making earrings which she states was inspired by her love for music. Growing up, she listened to the American and English rock music stars of the ‘70s and ‘80s, the Bee Gees being her favorites, and learned about fashion, trends and global pop culture. This prompted her to experiment with making her own clothing and jewelry, nurturing an interest in style. At a certain juncture, she recognized that she was at her happiest when creating earrings and she packed away her sewing machine to concentrate solely on designing jewelry.
Working out of her home, she admits she has made more pairs of earrings than she can possibly count, originally presenting her gifts to family members and friends until she insightfully saw the wisdom in selling her creations, placing her earrings exclusively at The Juggling Fish boutique on Palm Beach.
In the collection currently on display at Caribbean Queen at the Palm Beach Plaza Mall no two earrings or necklaces are the same. Anchie dedicates her creativity and inspiration to each piece, never replicating any. The pieces are made of silver plated wire and a variety of beads, gems and stones.
The collection at Caribbean Queen is inspired by Anchie’s Dushi Island of Aruba and its culture, both of which continually draw her home. Each piece is made with a special dose of love and passion for style inspired by and dedicated to everyday women who want to feel beautiful or simply loved.
