Amazonia Churrascaria is the proud recipient of Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for 2012

Amazonia Churrascaria has just recently received the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for 2012. “The best way to enjoy this gastronomical adventure called Rodizio,” says general manager Patrick v/d Berg, “is to pair it with a great wine, and Amazonia Churrascaria boasts an impressive wine cellar of over 1,200 bottles. With more than 100 wines by the bottle and 16 wines by the glass,” he adds, “Amazonia Churrascaria more than qualifies for the highly acclaimed Wine Spectator Awards Program, one of just a handful of restaurants on the island.”

Restaurants who earn the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, must adhere to strict requirements, v/d Berg goes on the explain, one of which is the wine storage condition  which at Amazonia Churrascaria means a 12-foot tall glass wine vault whose temperature-controlled capacity is over 1,200 viewed bottles. While all red wines are stored at room temperature, white wines are appropriately stored at 50°, v/d Berg informs. And with wine prices ranging from $25 up to $550 for wines by the bottle, and from $5 up to $15 for wines by the glass, every patron stopping by for dinner can afford to enjoy some delicious wine with his spectacular meal.

“To Patrick and his staff, congratulations on earning Wine Spectator’s 2012 Award of Excellence for your restaurant,” writes the Wine Spectator, Restaurant Wine List Awards Manager, “you’ve got a good wine list and you deserve the credibility and publicity that comes with a Wine Spectator Restaurant Wine List Award.”
