La Cabana hands out housekeeping awards

picture-415Executive Housekeeper Miriam Courtar surprised members of her department with well-deserved recognitions this week. “We believe,” she says, “in pausing and recognizing our associates for a job well done, a gesture that will surely motivate them to perform even more productively, in order to keep our guests satisfied.”

The housekeeping department recognized “O” defect rooms, and Dolores Flores, a floor supervisor who takes pride in her work made sure 89 rooms in her sections were flawlessly clean and in good working condition. Cecilia Letang, a housekeeper in that section, was also recognized for the quality of her work receiving a certificate and Gung Ho stars, which are part of an in-house reward system, for her share in the “O” defect program success.

Team of the Month for the Housekeeping Department, for January 2009, which reported all defects to Engineering and worked hard to fix them, before guest check-ins, consisted of Juanica, Maisy, Sylvania, Michelanda, Maria and Sainto.

Jacqueline Henriquez received the fun Smile of the Month award and Maria Magdalena Gomes was recognized for highest guest-mentions in January.

Houseman Jorge Menstan also received numerous guest mentions for being super-helpful in January and for going the extra mile.

Glenda Croes of Engineering helped coordinate the effort with great passion and dedication and received an extra blessing and commendation from the Housekeeping Department. Pictured here, those who worked extra-hard at La Cabana Beach & Racquet Club.
